25 Years Later, My Goth Self is Indulged

I first encountered Skinny Puppy watching a video on Much Music (Canada’s MTV) for Smothered Hope on a friend’s satellite dish tv in 1988. I proceeded to hunt out their albums and collected all the tapes I could and bootlegs from friends (dubs of dubs). Finally, it became an every day act listening to “Remission,” “Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse” and “Cleanse Fold and Manipulate.” My high school years involved a good amount of acid, red lights, watching scratchy videotapes of The Prisoner and MST3k, and losing my thoughts into Skinny Puppy’s music.

Last night, I got to see the band for the first time at The Granada in Lawrence, Kansas. The above video I took with my iPhone. It’s not great, it’s not bad, it’s my first YouTube post.
